HYDROFOIL
PERFORMANCE

Enjoy the ease of hydrofoils that cushion your ride and give you supreme control, with no interference to fishing lines.

Stable
as a cat

The hull's width at waterline is similar to a catamaran, for similar stability, so you can board & move around carefree.

LEVEL
FLOTATION

You get the safest flotation (that's required by law for commercial boats) as standard. Relax with that great peace-of-mind.

HIGH PERFORMANCE FOR HIGH COMFORT

AUTO CORRECTS

In following seas & bar crossings, the bow is hydrodynamically forced to lift, preventing nose-diving and broaching.

HYDROFOIL OPTION

Take the hydrofoils designed into your hull to the ultimate comfort, with the addition of retractable hydrofoils.

DRIVE-ON DRIVE-OFF

To easily launch & retrieve on your own, without help

SOFTENED RIDE

The wide reverse chine traps spray and pressurises it, slowing and softening downward impact.

STABILITY OF A CAT

At water level, Waveriders are as wide as a catamaran, to give you the same easy-use stability.

LEVEL FLOTATION

To maintain maximum possible stability and safety for crew, in the event of water entering the hull.

Why Hydrofoils?

When you want every trip to feel like a fair-weather day

You'll see hydrofoils on boat ferries in places like Sydney Harbour, which give tourists the most comfortable ride and to limit wash. When boats with hydrofoils increase speed, a great amount of lift is created, which raises the hull out of the water, making it a breeze to speed right over chop, and save on fuel consumption. With the lift that is generated, you can forget about slowly bobbing your way out to sea and crash-landing over the crests of swells. Rough, offshore conditions feel anything but, with a hydrofoil. Get there as fast and as dry as a fair-weather day.

Your Waverider comes with hydrofoil aspects built into the aggressive reverse chine which runs the full length of the hull. This produces amazing hydrodynamic lift to the entire boat, even at the bow, which is important to help prevent nose diving.

If you like to travel far offshore, where you're likely to encounter rough seas, we offer the additional option of retractable, submerged hydrofoils to be installed -- a first for mass produced trailer boats in Australia!

Special attention has been paid to the design, to allow them to be fully retractable for fishing while at rest and for ease of travel on trailers. You only need to lower them when you need them, otherwise they stay up and out of the way, under the reverse chine of the hull.

The difference of Waverider boats, when compared to regular monohulls, is like comparing a 4WD to an average sedan. Most boats are only suitable for fair-weather close-to-shore fishing trips. Not the Waveriders. They're built for long-distance travel through rough weather.

When you want to go further off-road in your 4WD, you've got to add lift-kits & hard core suspension to make it, let alone make it in comfort - which are comparable to adding  submerged hydroils to your Waverider. It's making the best boat even better!

WAVERIDER HYDROFOILS - IN THE MAKING FOR 30 YEARS

Pat built his first boat with hydrofoils back in the early 1980s.

He put them on the worst performing boat you possibly could -- a flat bottom barge. It was the ultimate test.

Pat was so impressed with the smoother ride, control at the bow and the ability to go faster through chop, it gave Pat the determination to find a way to implement hydrofoils into a boat design and take the enjoyment of boating to another level.

Waverider Boats are already designed with hydrofoil aspects built into the hull, which make them out perform regular monohulls, but you can choose the optional extra of the Waverider Submerged Hydrofoil for the ultimate in hydrofoil performance.
