PLATE BOATS WITH A BETTER DESIGN, FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE & STABILITY!

REVERSE CHINED BOW

To prevent nosediving. The significant width traps and pressurises water (think firehose), so that your bow pushes up and out of danger. A better use for spray than drenching you.

WINGED EDGE

For knife-blade control. The sharp down-angle of the chine has been calculated to a specific degree to act like surfboard fins on waves.

DRIVE-ON DRIVE-OFF

To easily launch & retrieve on your own. Even the smallest Waveriders, at 4.5 metres, come with a drive-on drive-off trailer.

WIDE REVERSE CHINE

For the softest of rides. The wide (widest available) reverse chine acts like hydrofoils, producing lift that, ironically, gives the comfort usually only found in heavy fibreglass boats.

WIDER FOOTPRINT

For the most stable monohull. Seriously. With maximum beam at the waterline, the dimensions are like that of a catamaran, with similar stability.

LEVEL FLOTATION

To prevent capsizing when flooded. The wide side decks are full of buoyancy, so if a wave washes on board, you've got the best chances of staying upright and stable.

Yes, level flotation as standard!

FORGET ROCK & ROLLING

Boats have always been tippy, so you just keep putting up with unsafe boarding, scared passengers and keeping to your own side.

FORGET WET, JARRING RIDES

Getting drenched with spray and having choppy water punch your back to bits is something you hate but put up with as "just normal."

FORGET BROACHING

You're sick of your boat having a mind of it's own in a following sea, and you wonder why nobody's solved this drama yet.

WOULD YOU LOVE TO COME HOME FASTER IN FOLLOWING SEAS, BUT YOU'RE STUCK WITH A BOAT THAT CAN'T HANDLE THE SWELLS?

In a Waverider, you really can ride a wave if you need to, because you get lift, grip and stability, all working together, so that you can fly home faster without even being aware of the the corrections the boat is making. Video of WR 550 with pod-mounted outboard. >>

LEVEL FLOTATION =

SAFEST WHEN FLOODED

How safe would you feel in a boat you knew could be fully flooded and be this stable, with three men on board?

BUILT-IN HYDROFOILS =

SOFTEST RIDE FROM AN ALLOY BOAT

The hull uses hydrofoil principles to capture spray and pressurise it, generating lift for a softened ride, comparable to glass boats.

BUILT-IN SURFBOARD FINS =

CONTROL LIKE NO OTHER

Bar crossings and river mouths are not friendly, so how about a modern boat that finally obeys your every command?

BUILT STRONG, WITH A HIGH QUALITY FINISH

A quality finish is a must, so all Waveriders are built by Aus Ships in Brisbane, under the supervision of naval architects. Constructed from plate aluminium, to best practice standards. And because Aus Ships' build method is so efficient, the project time is shorter, saving your bottom line and putting your boat in your hands sooner.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

We have been very happy with how it handles rough weather including the trip across to Fraser against the wind and swell. It is a very dry ride which is great with the kids, and the stability is fantastic when we take the boat onto the dam for some tubing.

As I drove the Kapten Centre Console 610 into swells, the hull refused to bang or register hard impact, and it was immediately noticeable that any spray was kept well down and away from the craft’s interior. The hull was very responsive to trim and could turn sharply when I wanted to chase down and then pass over a swell or two for the fun of it.

You'll notice ... just how stable a Waverider is at rest. It barely moves with three big guys on one side and is far safer than other tinnies in this regard ... The bows and the large, aggressive down-deflection chines aft help this boat track nicely in rough water and be exceptionally good at running 'downhill' with waves. It is another reason why this is such a great bar-crosser!
