BENEFITS & IMPROVMENTS OF THE OMEGA

MINIMUM 200MM CHINES

'Bigger is better' is definitely true in this case. The Omega's reverse chines start at 200mm now for a 450, and are scaled up the bigger the boat. So 200mm is the smallest. The bigger the boat, the bigger the chines need to be to stay in proportion & to give the lift & performance it needs.

WIDER, 300MM TOP DECKS

The side walls of the boat are 200mm wide and filled with marine grade foam, elevating each boat to the 'hard to reach' safety category of Level Flotation. But in order to fish comfortably against the sides, the decks are made 300mm wide, to allow 100mm for feet, and a broader top deck allows for walking & seating.

WIDER & LONGER FOOTPRINT

Common sense prevails when the top deck is similar in size to the amount of boat in the water, if stability is the goal. Most boats narrow to a small beam at water level, resulting in unstable boats. The omega's plumb bow design & straight sides, matches the water footprint to the top deck, giving HUGE STABILITY ALL ROUND.

FACTS & FEATURES OF THE OMEGA

WR 450 Omega prototype had a 2-metre overall beam; very short and squat, compared to other boats, but the ratio proved outstanding stability.
The ratio of the boat is scaled up for each model, so the Omega 500 has larger chines than the 450.
Standing on the main deck, facing outwards, resting against the 100 mm wide gunwale overlap when fishing, allows your feet to be under your body weight/position, for ultimate comfort and security.
700Kg of 4mm Marine Grade 5083 plate construction is used for the 500 Omega, for excellent weld strength & continuity.
18-degree dead rise at the transom.
Foam filled sides deaden the noise, making for a quiet ride, and as safe as can be with LEVEL FLOTATION.
Choose from an open plan tinny to half cabin on larger boats.
