IT'S 2020 NOW - YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GET WET!

Living in the time of high tech means we're past having to winch our boats onto the trailer (needing shoulder surgery or a good massage later), or rocking and pushing them off the trailers into the water.

Along with our futuristic hull design, we've evolved and improved our trailers so launching and retrieving is an effortless couple of minutes

We also hate walking precariously on wet and slippery boat ramps, up to our knees in freezing, dirty or croc-infested waters, so we've incorporated steps at the front to allow safer, quicker and drier boarding.

EASY LAUNCH & RETREVIAL

BELOW: Key times to watch: 2:56 - 3:22 & 6:10 - 6:20.

PROTOTYPE 610 & WR TRAILER - COMPARE

Key times to watch: Start - 0:20 & 2:48 - Finish.

  • See the difference without the Boat Catch clip & release system.
  • Though Pat uses the spare tyre as a step, our own designed steps are safer and provide surer footing.
  • Watch how easy it is to align the boat for drive-on, despite strong cross-current & stiff breeze.

WHY WE'RE PROUD OF OUR TRAILERS

  • Easy maintenance.
  • Safe & easy boarding (dry feet!).
  • Easy drive-on/off.

TRAILER FEATURES & INCLUSIONS

IMG_1344

Alloy box-section is a lot stronger than C or I-channel, and is still easy to hose out and drain with drain holes at every beam dip & bearer ends.

Every skid & beam is angled differently to allow for easy drive-on/off.

The cross-beams are all angled to guide and raise the boat as it's driven on. The nylon skids allow the boat to slide up, and slide off.

Grippy steps make it easy to board the boat from the ramp, suited for the solo fisherman.

Steps on the winch post give a 'dry' boarding option - over the bow - for solo fishermen. U-Deck pads ensure good grip at all times.

front pole & rope to boat catch

The guide pole on the winch post also doubles as a grab-rail as you step onto/off the boat, allowing you to keep yourself steady .

Skids hug & hold the boat snugly.

The nylon skid lined cross-beams are angled to cradle the hull snugly, providing broad, even distribution of weight on the hull.

Boat Catch (self-catching coupling system), installed on boat & trailerr.

All boats & trailers starting at the 475 range have the Boat Catch installed as standard for extra safety and easiness.

Spare tyres (same mag wheels) are always supplied.

Every trailer comes with a mag-wheel spare tyre to match the existing installed tyres & stud patterns and a swing-down jockey wheel.

WHEEL & GUARD

Alloy mag wheels and chequer plate mud-guards feature on every Waverider trailer, whether single or dual axle.

Stress points are reinforced with doubler plates.

Stress points are reinforced with thick alloy plate & larger builds have solid round-bar as well, to increase load carrying capacity.

Dual axle trailer with both axles connected with electic/hydraulic brakes.

If over 2000kgs total (some half-cabs), the trailer is fitted with electric/hydraulic brakes & break-away system for max safety.

475 TS - SINGLE AXLE, (MECHANICAL OVER-RIDE BRAKES)

550 CC - DUAL AXLE, (MECHANICAL OVER-RIDE BRAKES)

600 HC (OVER 2 TONNE) - DUAL AXLE, (ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC BRAKES & BRAKE-AWAY SYSTEM)

Note* Electric/hydraulic brakes require a controller fitted in your tow vehicle for the brakes to work.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC BRAKES

These heavy-duty brakes aren't required unless the towed weight is over 2000kgs  (2 tonne).

Our boat packages don't include these as standard, but choosing a lot of extras can increase the weight quite quickly on the larger builds. When the weight is getting close to 2000kgs, you can chose to upgrade your braking system to electric/hydraulic (combination).

To upgrade to electric/hydraulic brakes, the tow vehicle must have an electronic controller installed, so when the driver applies/uses the car's brakes, pressure is automatically applied on the trailers wheels as well.

When your trailer is over 2000kgs/2tonne, it also requires the trailer be fitted with a 'break-away' system, which requires a 12V battery, which, in the event of the trailer & car parting company while driving (heaven forbid), the battery ensures the brakes are activated and brings the trailer to a halt, all on its own. Same is required for caravans.
